90 Day Trend - 3rd Q 2016
An interesting item this month is that we had been anticipating that a lot of the growth in units would take place in New Construction Sales this year, because of the inventory shortage (Folks switching to new from resale because of the shortage) - However, if you look at the data, New Home Sales are actually below 2015 through Sept, by 18 units, while Resale units are up by 592 units for the same period ...
Is it that buyers prefer Resale or do you think it's because the highest number of resale units are selling in the $100-200k price range and New Construction is primarily focused on the $200-300k range? ... Let me know what you think!
